August News & Notes from the Midwest Nostalgia Pro Stock Association Pits

Midwest Nostalgia Pro Stock Association

The end of August signals the approach of Labor Day and the end of summer. And this summer was particularly busy for the Midwest Nostalgia Pro Stock Association, with visits to tracks from Central Illinois, to Northern Indiana, and back up North to Wisconsin.

Midwest Nostalgia Pro Stock Association

The month of August brought several new racers into the fold, including the Janik Family, Al and Sal Petrulis, Rod Hendrickson and John Sylos. Their debut with MNPSA came at Byron Dragway’s Summer Thunder. A hearty Welcome to all of you, and we look forward to having you at future events.

Parts Place- Shenuk

Tyler Shenuk knows quality race cars run on more than enthusiasm. To that end he has secured sponsorship from The Parts Place. Located in DeKalb, IL, The Parts Place is your “go to” for restoration parts for your classic American muscle car. Specializing in GM, they also inventory parts for Ford and Chrysler classics. The Parts Place joins X-treme Graphics & Lettering, Inc in support of Tyler. Visit their webpages so they can help you complete your project.

Hannah Fleischman had the family’s Vega at Great Lakes Dragaway with the intent to race at what became the rained out August Nitrous Street Car Brawl. It’s always great having Steve, Cindy & Hannah around, and we look forward to them getting back on the track with us.

Josh Parks Nova

While the season isn’t over, Jim and Josh Parks are already making plans for the 2017 season. Josh’s Yenko Nova will see a major upgrade in power, with a new engine and transmission. This will not only increase the car’s performance, but will compliment the new look the car is already displaying.

And that’s not all for the father/son duo. Word is they’ll be adding another Nostalgia Pro Stock car to the stable, a ’73 Chevy Vega. Stay tuned for more on this one!

We’re also hearing that Bob Catellino may have another car in the works for 2017. Known for finding very cool cars, Bob has procured a ’77 Monza that is appropriately described as Top Notch. If talks pan out, the Monza’s look will honor a significant Pro Stock competitor.

Getting back to sponsors. Without ours, the Midwest Nostalgia Pro Stock Association wouldn’t have the ability to perform as we do, and grow as we have. So please support Heiser Automotive Group, Top Notch Vehicles, and The Gobbler Theater.

Come join us at Midwest Nostalgia Pro Stock Association’s next race, Saturday and Sunday of Labor Day weekend at the Time Machine Nationals at Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove, WI. We look forward to seeing you!
